How the Commission Process Works

Does all of this feel a little intimidating?

Too many choices? Unsure what to do next? Don’t worry, that’s what we’re here for. Go ahead and follow this step by step guide to get your project rolling!

  1. This part is easy - you contact us! Hit any of the “Begin a Project” buttons scattered around the site, and you will be given a prompt to help you describe your project idea to us. Contacting us is totally free, and we promise we don’t bite. If you don’t know the answer to any part of the prompt, that’s totally okay - we’ll contact you with further questions and help you define and express your design.

We are assertively kink friendly, plus-size friendly, and gender affirming. We will always be discreet with your commissions.

Please allow us 48-72 hours to respond to your message!

2. We chat about it.

Via email or social media, we’ll exchange some images and ideas. Our artists will ask you some probing questions and find out what you really want out of your piece. We’ll do some introductory sourcing of materials to see what you like. We’ll chat a little bit about your budget, your physical needs from your piece (support? Binding? Combat-ready?), and your timeline (when do you need it by?).

You’re still in free territory here. Even if you aren’t sure, please feel free to begin this process.

Once you have begun a project, your ideas and inspiration will stay in our files forever. We can pick up where we left off at any time.

We do check our project messages daily, but sometimes it will take us more than 24 hours to respond depending on our workload. Fear not, we have not forgotten you!

3. We build you an estimate.

You haven’t paid anything yet, and you won’t until you decide to accept our estimate.

Once we understand your needs for the project, we will research materials, sources, and labor estimates. We’ll put it all together in one document for you to review. This estimate will not be absolutely final, but it will give you a detailed idea of exactly what to expect. We will never exceed this estimate without contacting you first.

In the case of extremely complex designs or large-scale projects, we may ask that you commit to a one-time consultation fee and video consult at the rate of $45/hour-long consultation. This will only be in extreme cases - like if we’re dressing your entire wedding party or creating the zombie hoard.

For most garments

We will go through a detailed process of getting your exact measurements. We have video aids and can consult via video to ensure a pristine fit.

4. We get started!

For most projects, we will ask for a deposit payment that covers our initial costs to being your piece. Deposits average $75 but will be based on the scale and price of your commission.

We’ll discuss your payment plan - we are open to paying the full price of your commission all at once, or breaking it up into smaller chunks that are manageable for your situation. Please always contact us if price is a concern - we want our items to be as available as possible to clients of every economic situation.

We will also talk about how long your piece may take to create, which will depend on the complexity of your commission, and how many other active jobs we have going on.

5. We create your piece.

We’ll check in regularly with updates about our progress. At key points, we will send you images so that we can finesse the perfect color, shape and detail on each item.

You might want to add something - a badge or a new detail. If this increases the cost of your commission, we will negotiate that with you as it comes up.

We will also let you know if a material option becomes unavailable, or costs more than expected. Again, we will not exceed our first estimate without contacting you.

6. We send your piece to you!

This is the best part.

We will always send you photos of the finished item, for your approval, before shipping. Your shipment will include care information for your specific item, to make sure you and your custom piece have a long and happy life together.

For new customers, we typically ask that your balance is paid in full before we ship your item. For returning customers, we may be able to ship your item before your balance is paid, in the cases of hard deadlines or other time constraints for when you need to receive your item.

And then, you wear it! Or you use it, and hopefully you send us many pictures of you in it so that we can bask vicariously in your joy.
